Need Engine swaps scientists, HLPLZ

Hi, I'm preparing my swap so I have a few questions to make sure that I have the parts available when doing the swap. I have a B16 get ready to drop in my 97 civic EX. I know I will need new motor mounts, right? If I do, which one do I need? Cause I dont want to buy the whole mounts kit. Also, I will have to convert obd2 to obd1, which I have the website showing how, do you think do it yourself and save 250 bucks or go out and get the obd2 to obd1 skunk2 conversion harness? I know I also need new axle so that will be taken care of...anything else that I should know? Thanks for helping guys.

Well new mounts are a good idea, whether you need them or not. A b16a has a lot more power than your old engine, and replacing a mount once the engine is already in is a real pain.

I believe you just need the mounts for the same year Integra.

As for converting to OBD 1 you only need to do this if you get an OBD I B16a (ECU, some sensors etc are differnt). But if you find a B16a with an OOBD II ECU then there is no need to do the conversion.
However there are not yet large numbers of the later OBD II engine coming out of Japan yet.

I was under the impression the mounts on the 96 EX are the same used on the integras making this one of the easiest swaps around. as far as going from OBD II to OBD I, i recommend using the Skunk 2 harness unless you or one of your buddies knows how and were to splice the wires. This will make install SOOO much easier

That's accurate - i think he was saying that it's a good idea to have them on hand to replace while you've already got the engine out?
