Cool Jeep Wrangler Price Question

Can anyone tell me why Jeep Wranglers are so expensive. I look at used Jeeps and I see Jeeps with a hugh amount of mileage and large price tags. One would probably be better off simply buying a new jeep for the kind of money people are asking. Toyota maybe but not a jeep for the money that I see being asked. Can someone help me understand why.

Wranglers are funny vehicles, and you're right, they hold value like crazy. I think its because they have a great resale market - lots of people want the adventure lifestyle statement a Jeep Wrangler projects, others want a practical 4x4 convertible (there isn't many), and others want a reliable runabout for winter or off-road. Plus the custom market for the littlest Jeep is as big as they come, probably bigger than the Civic. Everywhere you look there's modded Wranglers with mudder tires, custom paint, covered in spot lights, etc.

You're paying for the cool factor and the uniqueness of the vehicle - there's not much out there than can do what a Jeep Wrangler can do. In Rubicon form, it'll leave just about everything else behind on a trail.

So yeah, new makes sense, cause when you go to sell it you can be pretty sure it will still be valuable.

^ this. Un modified wranglers are hard to come by and as ak said, theres a huge market for them with off-roaders.
