Front Suspension Question.

Just a few questions here..I just replaced my outer drivers side tie rod and in the process, noticed that my sway bar is cracked right at the end links. The bottom end of the bar and about three inches towards the passenger side is broke and loose. The bar itself is not totally broke, the top of the bar is still stable. I'm just not ready to have this replaced yet and my question is: I have an appointment tomorrow for an alignment and I need to know if the suspension can be successfully aligned with the front stabilizer in this condition? Should I wait on the alignment and just get this sway bar replaced before I align it? The steering wheel is just about centered with the new tie rod the best we could until I need an alignment.
After doing research, I've heard the ZZ performance sway bar is the best deal. Should I get the poly bushing along with it? Everything is stock so I'm just looking for basic replacement. Just not sure what end links come with this order.

The sway bar shouldn't have anything to do with the alignment so you are safe. The ZZP sway bar is a good deal and poly bushings are better than the rubber. You will also want to get the poly end links because I suspect yours will break when you try to remove them.

The GMPP bar offered by ZZP comes with new rubber midpoint bushings and new stock rubber stabilizer bar endlinks.

I was not able to find the correct size of poly busing to use on the GMPP bar, and the upgraded poly endlinks ZZP offer with the GMPP are a joke. They do not align right with the lower controll arms, and the bolts are actually longer causing too much travel of the bar and the result is a poor ride. I ended up swapping back in my stockers for a much better ride.

Save yourself some headaches and money and just stick to stock the first time around. Just go with the GMPP bar and its stock bushings and links.

Thanks Tim, so sticking with stock, I'll get all I need to replace the front sway bar, including the mid point brackets and bushings from ZZP?

Yes, unless they have changed, when I ordered my gmpp bar from zzp, they included the rubber midpoint bushings because the stock ones are too small, and they included two new endlinks.

I put poly end-links on mine but I ordered them from Jegs!

Thanks anyways GTP Dad, I went with the rubber. I'm sure I'll get great results with the new thicker bar. I didn't get the scheduled alignment this morning. I'll wait until the parts arrive and install.

Hey Lynn, I think I saw those. Were they energy suspension brand? I didn't want to go with them because it seemed like the only ones I could find were not specifically for my car but more of a universal design that could fit multiple cars. I didn't know if they would be good or not so I passed.

Yes they were Energy Suspension. I had to do a little modification to them but they work well.
