Acceleration Drop out. 94 2wd pickup 22r

Howdy Folks,

I was driving on the highway shifting into 4th gear when suddenly the acceleration disappeared. 1st seems unaffected but every other gear seems that a fraction of the gas is going to turn the wheels and most of the gas is going to rev the engine. I was curious about anyone's thoughts on this. Of what I could find about half say it's a tranny thing and about half say timing belt.

In case anybody's not clear...imagine driving shifting from 1st to 2nd and instead of smoothly picking up speed it feels like you are in neutral and racing the engine. The car is actually still moving and picking up speed but very slowly. No rattles no grinding, the shifting feels as new as when I got the vehicle just no more go.

Thanks,
takakun

It's all good. Upon talking to a couple people, the concensus is the clutch is worn out. I will be payin about 550-600 for this work because I hate messin with the tranny.

Thanks,
T
