My Mark VIII Has an electrical problem and I am not sure what is causing it or how to go about fixing it without seeing the mechanic and litening my walet. the "diagnostic center" (little screen in the dash) comes on and says "check charging system" and the the car starts to die. what I dont understand is why it is doing this. It has a new battery, new cables and the alternator is in good shape. when I jump it, (sometimes it has to be jumped several times in a row) it will run fine, sometimes for a day sometimes for a couple weeks, and then it will happen all over again. does anyone have any suggestions? I think it is a loose ground or connection but I am not possitive nor do I really know where all of these are located. I am fairly handy with all of the basics on a car, but electrical is something that baffles me to no end. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: 93 mark VIII with elec. problems. pls help!!
How do know that the alternator is good? Have you measured the voltage outputwhen running? It should be at 14+volts. Check that and let us know. My '94 went through two alternators that had the same symptoms.
