1994 new water pump makes service engine light come on?

changed water pump hooked everything up double checked it all with the repair manual also had a friend look at it to make sure everything went together correctly but i turned the key and the service engine light has now come on and i have NEVER had this light on before.. any advice? kinda scared to move the car and im a single mom i need my car. ty for any advice yall can give me.

If no wires or vacuum lines were disconnected or broken upon assembly, you will have to scan the car for codes to see what's up.
Was the coolant topped off, a low coolant level can trigger a CEL

You can drive the car with a CEL on, just make sure it is not leaking coolant.

Make sure the CTS is connected properly.

most when messing this job up do not properly reconnect the air pump correctly...recheck the air pump hoses /vacuum lines/electrical
