89 Grand Marquis wont start
The old battery died out and I replaced it with a new one. Lights on the dash and all other lights, power locks, etc. work, but it wont start. No clicking, no turning over, nothing. It only has 63000 original miles on it.
What could it be ?? Starter shot ?? Bad Solenoid ?? Alternator ?? Thanks, John |

Re: 89 Grand Marquis wont start
take off the wires at the solenoid, clean all the connections and put back together. it should start then.

Re: 89 Grand Marquis wont start
Well, did it start ok before the battery went bad? You could try a new solonoid and it may start up then. I think the solonoid costs less than ten bucks.

Re: 89 Grand Marquis wont start
I suggest removing and cleaning all of the connections at the solenoid and then put it back together and try it again. It may be just a bad connection. Use emery cloth to clean each connector, when it's "shiny metal", it's clean.
