Re: b16 smokes and runs like crap

sounds like a possible head gasket to me, do a leak down on it, it may not be getting into the oil, sounds like its getting into a cylinder or 2 and gettin sent out the exhaust, low compression due to a leaky head gasket would explain runnin like crap as well. just my .02

Re: b16 smokes and runs like crap

i will try a leak down test i've also had a local shop say it could be a cracked sleeve, but hopefully coming from japan and only supposedly having around 45,000 miles that wouldnt be the case

Re: b16 smokes and runs like crap

it could be a cracked sleeve, but try the least expensive option first, and coming from japan, honestly you dont know what you are getting, and the 45,000 mile thing is just a educated guess, it could be 45,000 or 145,000 or worse, the suppliers dont even know for sure, they are suppost to make sure the engine is in decent shape b4 selling it though, who did you go through?
