Got some bad news yesterday...

I was working on the Jeep when I got a call from Tiff and some girl didn't yield at a stop sign and pulled right out in front of her ...



The other driver was of course at fault and was cited.

Here it is about two weeks ago:



I really hope it's not totaled.

That totally sucks. People are always in a hurry to go no where. I see it here all the time no one wants to do the speed limit even on the city streets.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm pretty bummed. We're going to be getting a rental car today and they're also towing it to the body shop this afternoon so here's hoping. I just want my car back the way it was.

Did the Airbags go off Matt?

If not its probably going to not be totalled, but still could be borderline. It looks like at the very least will need a front fender, hood, bumper, and maybe a new subframe or LCA arm depending on how hard the hit was.

Sorry to hear that though, especially after the Mods you just got. Very dissappointing, and it sure was a good looking prix.

Actually no, the airbags didn't go off. Tiffany swirved as best she could and that's why the damage is on the corner instead of head-on. Otherwise it would have been.

The car should arrive at the body shop this morning and the adjuster should be getting with us in the next day or two so we'll see what happens.

Hopefully, that does not happen with the insurance company totaling your car. If they do it will go to the salvage yard and they will fix the car and get a salvage title and sell the car. It happens here in IL all the time.

If they do decide to total the car I have every right to keep the car although their check will probably be lower than if I let them have it. If they do total it, I can choose to fix it with what they give me, or I can part it out. Either way, I'm not letting them take the car. Like you pointed out, they'll sell it as a salvage and they'll make out better than I do. Not going to happen......

Well here's the latest from the shop with the new projectors/HIDs! I should have it back all good as new on Monday!
