97 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L...Bogging down

I have a 97 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4l that has just had the engine redone and a brand new fuel pump put in. Ran great for a week, then on the expressway it started to bog and when trying to accelerate it was jumpy and idling funny. Anyone have any idea? We are thinking of replacing the "brain"

Try cleaning the egr valve.I am not sure if that would help, but I had a similar problem, the car started to lose power and when I pushed the gas I could not get power then it stalled.
