Only for the brave or: I build what I like...

Hey here's more models that may or may not get finished this lifetime. Okay, so I was watching Wangan Midnight while enjoying Andy Jones ' Z thread and I kind of came up with the Z pictured below ( which should be the Z from Shakotan Boogie but I digress ) First are some of the pictures of what inspired me and last are the pictures of what's sitting on my dining room table (and getting me on my wife's bad side ) I've been "working on" the Levin for about two years now and it's been repainted roughly 7 times; I like the Chrysler Prowler Purple Metallic that's on it now. Have a great day or night or whatever it is wherever you are .

Very, very cool. I think most people like what you build, too and if they say they don't they're dirty liars. Are you going to paint the Z like the Yanky Mate! car? In the off-brown yellowish color?

Thanks guys. I've painted the Z in Tamiya Gloss Aluminum and I think I might stick with that but I plan on doing another one maybe.

Re: Only for the brave or: I build what I like...

i always felt that the datsun Z should be a cult car like the toyota 2000GT...
these 2 japanese makes are the best that had ever appeared in this part of the world.

it's really a sexy car...now with those super wheel arches it's like a heavy butt fairlady!!!

SEXY & SPOOKY!!!

great job on those 'bolt-on' details...
good job!!!

I love these cars, still dont know the exact name of the style though. They had heaps of these kits in japan (shakotan boogie series). I should have bought one. Maybe add one of those really long exhausts?

i have this kit in my "to do" pile as well as a couple other cars from the shakotan boogie series. as for the name of the style it's "yankee", rather than "bosozoku" as most people refer to it. the style mimics or mocks the old silhouette racer styling of the 60's/70's japanese race cars, whereas bosozoku is the term to refer to the hooligan bikers.
