"Super" Chevy???

We're proud to announce, the quickest GM-powered car at Super Chevy (VMP) this past Saturday was NOT Chevy-powerd!

Dirty Bird laid down a 4.28 @ 165 (1/8 mile) in front of 10,000 screaming Chevy fans! The closest Chevy-powered car was one of the "nitro coupes", paid exhibition cars, sporting an 800 CID BBC with 3 stages of nitrous. The best they could manage was a 4.46! There were 5 other nitro cars, all with BAE Hemis. We were quicker than three of those!

Since our outing at Waynesboro this past Easter Sunday, where among a field of 6 funnys (DB was the only "wedge" AND the only iron block), Dirty Bird has earned his "Injun warrior name" of "Dances With Elephants". We put down the third best ET of the meet and SMOKED the only Hemi car that lined up against us!

Now the Bowtie boys better "circle the wagons" 'cuz there's a full-fledged Injun "attack" on the way! REAL GM race cars wear ARROWHEADS!!! (NOTE: Pontiacs were all alone in the finals (again...) in P/S at Vegas yesterday, too!)

Actually, it was my first time at the all-Chevy "show". I was surprised to see there were far fewer 7 and 8 second cars than generally show up for the Pontiac races. I didn't see a single "door car" in the 7s (1/4 mile) except the exhibition cars. There's usually 5 or 6 at Pontiacs in the Park...

But now they know.

Oh, and BTW, one of our (CVMS) Chevy customers WON the race! ("foot brake") Congratulations to Bill King and his '87 T/A.

Jim

Re: "Super" Chevy???

Dirty Bird is a Pontiac-powered TA/FC ('02 S&W chassis). Currently it's the quickest Pontiac on the planet. 1/4 mile "best so far" of 6.52 @ 213.5. 1/8 mile, 4.18 @ 171.

475 CID (4.350 x 4), IA-II block, Tiger heads. Littlefield 14/71 "high helix, retro", Enderle injected. Dave Wilcox (driver, fuel tuner) fabricated the intake. LencoDrive (2-speed), Coan converter. 4.10 gear. 2,455 lbs. "race weight". 2,000 HP @ 9,000 RPM. (yes, you CAN "rev" a Pontiac...)

I posted here just for the fun of it. I figured to get "a rise" out of someone. Chevy guys always seem a little insecure around Pontiacs. Our team is dead-serious about racing the car. Our REAL "target" are the Hemis, of course. In 1/4 mile, we're still too far "down" on top-end power. In 1/8 mile, though, we're right there with them. We've joined a "tour" of sorts. Earth Shaking Entertainment features an "outlaw" FC group for exhibitions at "local" tracks. All of them we've seen are "Brad" motors (Brad Anderson Hemis). In our first real encouter (Easter at Waynesboro, VA), we put down the 3rd best ET and stomped the only "heads up" competitors we've had.

You can see the car and the "story" on our website.
