|
Help 96 5.7 vortec won't start
My truck will crank over good. Soon has I let off key like it started, it sputtered like it was trying to start but didn't. Tried starting fluid and pouring gas into engine it did not start. Please help me need it back on road so I can fix my other vehicle.

Have you checked for fuel pressure?
The poppet nossels (fuel injectors) on this motore are very sensative to imporper fuel pressure. If its low, they won't open.

It should have popped over with the starting fluid. Didi you check for spark at the coil or at the plugs. We've had a could in the last couple months with bad caps. All kinds of spark out the coil but nothing making it to the spark plugs.

Sounds like it is time for a new distributor cap and rotor, or clean up the one you have. There is a small chance that there is an issue with the crankshaft position sensor but I would through a new cap and rotor in first
