p11 fog light bulbs

I already have PIAA bulbs for my headlights and I wanted to change the bulbs in the foglights as well. I wanted to put in PIAAs for the foglights but the wattage is 55/65 but the stock wattage is 35. Is it okay if I just go ahead and put the h3 PIAA bulbs in anyway? has anyone found 35 watt h3s? thanks!

I wouldn't do that if I were you. You will need more power to make them work properly. You'll end up burning the sockets and wiring cuz the bulbs demand more power. Stick to whatever watts are handled by the fogs. If it's 35, look for 35 watt bulbs.

Old post, but i came across it. Most people in this forum put in a 55w bulb into the fog lights, and they have not had problems. So I dont know why you would say that it would burn sockets or wiring.

75W foglights??? yikes!

I've used 55W and they always burnt out after a few months. I went through 4 sets (PIAA, Razo). I finally got 35W PIAA H3 Platinum Super Whites back in June and havent had a problem yet.

not sure if this helps or not, but i'm shutting off the lights before turning the engine off. piaa's site said somewhere to do this.

i don't usually turn on the fogs unless it's raining or fog. kinda stupid imo to have yellow lights on in a perfectly sunny day. planning to get superwhites for the fogs after winter.
