95 astro gladiator security problems

I started the van drove to my sons house turned it off and when i went to start it, it wouldn't start. Healights went out as well as dome lights,(dash lights were on). turned over but wouldn't start and when it did only started for a couple seconds. I push the remot lock/unlock button, lights came on, but when I turned the key to the on position, lights went out and didn't start.
Please help, I have searched the internet for hours and cannot find a solution. I don't know what kind of anti theft device is on this van. I don't see a chip in the key. but it has a LED light on top of dash.
Thank you.

Re: 95 astro gladiator security problems

An LED on the top of the dash usually indicates an aftermarket remote starter has been installed. The installers of those things aren't always, ummm, good at their job and they have been found to be problematic, at best.

I'd start tracing wiring under the dash to find splices and test each and every one.
