Went muddin in the 95 Cheyenne

So I had this Chevy truck for about 8 years. I paid cash for it and it's been a great truck. It was actually my daily driver for several years until gas kept going up. As time went by and the old truck was sitting around, I went out to do some work on it and noticed how rotten the frame and the rest of the undercarriage was getting. I have seen these frames break many times. I now had to make a decision.........

Let the truck rust away in the yard?

Sell it?

Have some fun with it before it rots away?

I chose the latter

I fish-plated the frame on both sides for reinforcement, replaced the leaking water pump and a few other parts including the seized front drive shaft. I then purchased a set of Buckshot XMT Mudders for it..........

Removed the hard cover and tailgate and added a net and a toolbox.......

Sure! The truck looks pretty nice, but up close, the cab corners are gone, the fenders are rotting, and it's getting old. I entered the truck at Yankee Lake Truck Night in Ohio.

I was totally impressed with how well the truck performed compared to the much larger trucks out there and got several comments during the night. Mine is stock with oversize tires. Here is the best picture from the event......

I only got stuck once! I have pictures of that coming up real soon.

Re: Went muddin in the 95 Cheyenne

Went again tonight.....................

My buddy brought his "John Deere" 1979 Ford Truck............

He got stuck multiple times...............

Then he broke his front drive shaft and then it would not start, so it ended up getting towed to the pits...............

I helped out getting the starter removed and cleaned out so they could go out with us, but it overheated after going through a mud pit and got parked.

The "5 Mile Trail" was so wet and soupy, it became an actual challenge! We did the trail 4 times. On the last run out, we ran into some poor kids in a little Geo Tracker that was dead. I offered to pull them out and gave them the ride of their lives! I dragged them through every mud hole I could find with my right foot to the floor! Those poor kids were totally dumbfounded and helpless. They were holding the brake through some of the dangerous curves with all 4 tires locked up while I dragged them through the woods like a sled. When we returned to the pits they were all laughing and covered in mud!

The best part about this is the Chevy never broke down after all this torture, and my buddy broke 3 Ford trucks in 2 visits, but I did lose my front license plate.....................

I guess I should report that.

I know it had a windshield when we started off

It was a gray convertible with red stripes.
