Does anyone have any tips on searching for a reliable bodyshop?

Call the Better Business Bureau.
Talk to car folks around your town, see what they think, and check out the work they had done on their cars. What kind of work do you need done? Could you do it yourself? That could be an option, and less expensive too. -wheel

word of mouth, talk to people that have had work done on their car. If they're really happy with it, they'll recommend it to you, and if they do then it's usually a decent shop. And cheaper isn't always better.
