Damn Snowbank's........

Posted this in the Cavalier forum, but not really getting any responses, so i thought i'd post it here...plus i figured you guys (and gals) would find this humorous...

So it's pretty snowy here on Ontario..and the other day it's like a snow storm.....the roads aren't plowed...i'm droppin' off one of my women :sun: and she lives on a massive hill...me trying to be the cool guy that i am, doesn't gear down before the hill......so my ABS is workin' overtime on this hill, and i still decide...i'm gonna show off and slide around this turn......well that didn't go to well...i slide part way through the turn, and then the car continued on a straight path towards the snowbank...at this point i'm in for the ride... so i hit the snowbank..by this time i was probably only going like 10km/h......i swear a little, then back up, and asess the damage.....no visible bumper damage...i'm happy as hell! Is there any sort of damage that could have occured to the bumper, that isn't visible from looking at the exterior? thanks

Hey,

My Dad did that in a rental Neon once...except he slid into a phonebooth. No visible damage is the same thing.

In your case, your impact brace or whatever it's called behind the bumper may have kinked a bit, but it's not too big a deal. You won't be able to tell, it's just gonna make damage worse on your car if you get into a front-end accident since the brace will already be broken. In other words, it won't absorbe impact now.

I'm not saying this happened (10 km/h i doubt anything happened) but it's still probably worth investigating for safety sake.

Hope this helps you out chief. :flash:
