correct amp?
i want to hook up 2 12" rockford p1s814 into an alpine MRV-F305. the subs are 8ohms. i'm having trouble finding specs on the amp, but i believe the amp handles 4ohms, so if i bridge the subs i should be fine?
does anyone have spec on this amp? could i hook up my speakers (alpine SPR-57C) into the amp also? it is 4channel. is the amp 400watts per channel or all the channels bridged? Thanks. T.Carter |

Re: correct amp?
you could bridge the rear channels of the amp and run the subs wired in parallel. then run the front channels to your SPR-57Cs. that would only give the subs 60 watts rms each though. your amp is 50 rms X4 into 4 ohms. 120 rms bridged X2 into 4 ohms.

Re: correct amp?
all regular car amps are rated at 4 ohms, and the class D one are rated at like 1 or 2 ohms. Why are your subs ratd for 8 ohms ?

if you want to keep the amp, get a pair of subs that can be wired to 4 ohms each. if you want to keep the subs, get a two channel amp that pushes around 300rms into 4 ohms bridged.

Re: correct amp?
8 ohms is the HOME standard ..... 4 ohms is the standard for car speakers. Sounds like you need a new stereo shop.
