Bears needs to do something!

I'd say trade Rex Grossman and Cedric Benson PLUS two first round picks to the Eagles for D. McNabb and B. Westbrook. I don't have any more patience for Rex. He didn't improve much. His hands are made of butter and can't handle the ball worth shit. His awareness is awful. The only thing that he's improved is to handle well under pressure. Thats it. Getting rid of Thomas Jones was the BIGGEST and the most DUMBEST moves by the Bears...ever! So now we lost a good proven back and now we need someone to take his place. Benson aint it. Sorry.

Yep. Bears might as well give up now. Defense can't do it all, no matter how good they are.

Re: Bears needs to do something!

The only thing that pissed me off about Rex's performance Sunday was when he tried to escape the rush from his right and ran without protecting the ball. Luckily Peterson was able to scoop the ball up after he dropped it. The pick was a route running mistake from Berrian and aside from that, he played decently when he stayed on his feet. That first sack he took was the result of a COMPLETELY unblocked DE coming for him. Benson could've picked that block up but stuck to his route instead of protecting his QB. Second sack was similar but I don't remember who missed the block.

That being said, I still wanna keep Rex (I'm just a Rex guy I guess) but Benson isn't living up to his college pedigree. Part of the failure of the run game is in our O-lines so-so blocking schemes for running downs. There are NO holes for Ced to run through but he also doesn't look for any to open up for him. He has 0 field vision, he just wants to use his size to knock people out of his way. Thomas Jones had great vision so he could make use of the small holes to O-line managed to create for him. When the run game is struggling like that I think its worth putting in the scat back Wolfe to use his feet and at least tire out the defense from chasing him around.

The Bears aren't dead in the water, but the offense has to find a rythmn and we can NOT afford 4 turnovers especially against an opportunistic defense like San Diego.

Odd that there's never been any release of information pointing to where McLaren ever used the Ferrari info. It's all a bunch of shit. The FIA always favors Ferrari. I'm just glad I get to see them race when I'm in Shanghai in October!! opcorn:

Rex definitely needs to up his game a little. I want him to show up like how he did the first 5 games last season. He looked like an MVP out there. If he's back to that, then we're Super Bowl bound team.

I wouldn't blame O-Line for Cedric Bensons lack of running. You're right, he wants to use his size to knock others down. You can't get long runs like that. If it was 1st/2nd or even 3rd and short, thats when you want to knock over other players. I'm really upset that we had to get rid of Thomas Jones. I hope the coaches regret trading him.

About Garret Wolfe, I definitely put him in the game just to see what he's made of. Hes short but QUICK! Give him a shot BEARS!

Superior? Yeh right. The defense held them pretty good. Especially on LT which he only had 25 yards.

Re: Bears needs to do something!

Hester is the man and proved it once again. If it wasn't for the block in the back he woulda had 2 TDs

Rex... well lets just say my tolerance for his f-ups has dropped considerably. Benson looked better today.

Next week is all about Peanut shutting down TO

Official Chicago Bears thread

Well yesterday against the Chiefs, the Bears did OK but not enough to convince me that there offense is set. Rex didn't have a good day. 160yds passing , 1td and 2 int. Still needs to up his game. Cedric Benson did pretty well I must say. I just hope he keeps it up for the rest of the freaking season. There defense was stellar as usual. Again they have stopped one of the top RB in the game only giving Larry Johnson 55yds on the ground.

Next week against Dallas Cowboys is going to be a huge game for them. Lets see how they measure up.

Yeah I just noticed that. Whoever did it, thanks

Peanut is getting better at shutting down recievers. I remember that one play when the Bears where facing the Vikings and D. Culpepper threw a bomb to Randy Moss. R. Moss caught it near the end zone and Peanut just stripped it out of is hand to make it an interception. Great play. Bears are good at stopping that cry baby.

Re: Official Chicago Bears thread

You can thank audioguy93delsol for the name change.

I've always been a Peanut fan, mostly cause he's from the chicago area and I always want hometown products to do well. But he's excellent in coverage too. I remember that game and when he "out-mossed" moss he officially made a name for himself. The only guy I can name that ever beat up on him was Steve Smith in the infamous 05 1 and done playoffs

He'll be on TO next week and he should be able to keep him covered. He's faster than TO and we all know To works hardest on the deep route, so if Peanut keeps a body on him off the line to throw off his rout timing, then he should be able to shut him down.
