New Tires

I'm going to be buying new tires before winter, as thats when the sales are on around here (I use all seasons for... all seasons) the 2 tires i am looking at are both Goodyear tires, ether the Eagle RS-A or the Assurance TripleTred one is $90 (T.T.) the other is $77(RS-A), anyone have some experience with these, i am also a spirited driver too, so which is better summer/winter than the other? thanks for your help in advance!

I, myself use all seasons on my vehicles from around April to November, and winter tires from November to early April. I live in an area ,(Central NY,) that gets up to 200" of snow a season combined with rough winter weather. I find the winter tires are much better for driving in winter conditions because of their aggressive tread design. I'm not sure how bad your winters are but if you can afford to get winter tires, I would recommend them.

Re: New Tires

Well I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and we normally have winter from mid Oct. to March (although it is different every year) but we usually only get a couple snow falls a year that have more than 4 or 5 inches, not to mention that the winter tires aren't in my current budget.

Re: New Tires

All seasons don't really give that great of traction in the heavy/deep snow. Winter tires are best there. However, if you generally don't have to deal with a ton of snow throughout the year, then all seasons are probably all right. They certainly wouldn't fly here in Colorado though.

Well, according to your original post, it appears you were asking which tires are better. It is the way you worded the post that is confusing people. For instance:

Re: New Tires

Try www.tirerack.com. Even if you don't buy from them, many people put reviews of their tire purchases there. That helped me determine what all terrain tires to buy. Both of your tires are there and it seems most didn't like the eagles. But it usually isn't necessary to spend a ton of money on tires as just about all of them do their job, regardless of brand.
