suggestions,tips, tricks, or info please
im new to olds. ive been a bowtie man all my life. i have an 84 cutlass sittin around with a bad motor so i decided to build a drag car. i wanted to be different and actually use an olds engine. plus i like the torque they make and ive been told they weigh as much as a sb chevy. this is my plan: forged bottom end, alum heads, hyd roller cam(bout 560-600 lift) 8.5:1 comp, and an intercooled procharger. so what ya think thanks
oh yeah im shootin for 1200- 1500 hp with 20psi boost |

Re: suggestions, tips, tricks, or info please
gonna be expensive, Olds 455 parts aint cheap. Try Mondello in California they are pretty much second to none in the Olds dept. I am planning on aluminum heads, roller cam/rockers 10:1 comp LT headers and Edelbrock dual plane intake for my '71 455 Olds cutlass. In later years Olds made a 403ci that ran very good as well.....

Re: suggestions, tips, tricks, or info please
I was an olds man for several years (thanx dad) and now am a bowtie guy, my 1st car was a 71 cutlass that had a 403 , not sure what it came out of but it was balls out just stock, thats the engine i would start with. Being 17 at the time i abused it something fierce and never hurt a thing on it, seemed to be bullet proof. lemme know what ya decide as i am considering building a Olds motor myself since now im older and have a bit o' cash layin around to do it. I really like the pro-charger idea.
