02 gmc XL brake light and running keeps burning out
Hi all. The left front running light and right rear brake light keeps burning out. I see quite a few XL's with the same problem and was wondering if this is a comon problem or if anyone has a fix. Thanks.

I never had brake lights go out but all my GM trucks/Suv burn out the OEM DRL's until they were replaced with LL bulbs.

Re: 02 gmc XL brake light and running keeps burning out
I just bought replacemento bulbs for the daytime running lamps and could barely get the old bulbs out. The sockets were charred/melted and brown/black. It was impossible to replace them. These lights burned out shortly after we purchased the car in '02.
My left brakelight just went out and the replacement bulb listed in the manual didn't fit the socket. My husband used the bulb i'd purchased for the front daytime lamp...not sure this is a good idea, but it worked. i'd ask GMC about these, because there is definitely something funky going on. Were you able to replace the running lights? |
