98 Legacy L Wagon
I just bought a 98 Legacy L Wagon. Fully loaded. New motor w/130,000 on it. Body has 205,000,but is in excellent shape. Other than changing fluids, any tips?? What about timing belts? Any one know of any problems with these?
It all checked out great on CarFax. Automatic 2.2 engine. Thanks! |

Re: 98 Legacy L Wagon
Check the cambelt, the axle boots and differential fluid.

Re: 98 Legacy L Wagon
They are great cars, only they seem to have a weak head-gasket, so try to fill (both) the radiator and it's reservoir with coolant and make sure engine runs at it's coolest so the gasket doesn't burn. When they burn oil starts leaking, sometimes over the exhaust headers, and then it burns and smokes. It also causes some rougher running. Make sure timing belt is changed.
