hey man,

I use a K&N Typhoon intake, and i absolutely love it. The sound and the price can't be beat. That's my opinion plus K&N make great products. Just what i have seen since i started working at Advance Auto Parts.

It doesn't matter what intake tube you use as long as it has a quality filter. Buy a cheap one on ebay and than get a good filter for it.

AEM has researched it, to come up with the perfect size intake tube. If you use a large pipe such as a 3" Akimoto intake, there is plenty of space for air to travel from the filter to the TB. Then if the pipe dia. is reduced then the speed of the air needs to increase to supply the same amount of air. Now if the pipe dia. is too small, then it becomes restrictive. And AEM as found the perfect balance between the too. Plus they use K&N filters. Can't beat that.

dude there is no hope for an intake on a LX. our DPFI screws us. Here is what you do:

at the bottom of your filterbox you will find a rubber tube thing that connects the front intake pipe, the resonator box, and the filter box together. just take out that rubber piece, then take out your resonator and take out the front intake piping... instant intake that looks stock and sounds pretty good. don't waste your time on horse power upgrades on a DPFI

i second darkimport... on us dpfi guys, its pitiful how slow our cars are... meaning the performance upgrades are worthless.. dont even get it man its a waste of money, get a nice shift knob or somethin man... or start savin for a nice exhuast.. even if our cars are slow they can still sound hella good with exhuast... well see ya lata.

i'm in denial. My DPFi will be fast. Wait, who am i kidding.
When you get the intake take off the top black airbox that says DPFI and remove the little brass plate inside. All it does is restrict air.

Yeah, if you have the stock d15:finger: Oh well, even though I got a SOHC ZC they used all the DX shit when they put it in which means i still got DPFI. But my intake seemed to make a difference
