VR4 vs Vigor and CRX

You know I really hate this site now, I just wrote a damn book about these races, but because it logs you out after 2 minutes, it's gone...wtf AF, it didn't used to be like that, whats the problem?

Okay, now you get the summed up version.

First race:

Me and the girlfriend driving at night in the rain. Acura Vigor tries to fly by, I see him, drop it into 2nd and stop him. He then continues to try so I put it in 3rd and keep him at bay for a few seconds, and as soon as I hit my powerband, blow him away doing 100+ on a 35 road (5 lane road). He won't pull up after .

Second Race:

Coming home from work today, my buddy who has a CRX and always wants to race, tries to pass me coming off the on ramp to the highway. So I oblige, and proceed to put a couple plane lengths on him through 3rd. Then the fun part happened! I see a long stretch of straight highway with 0 traffic in front of me, something I haven't seen in a looooong time. So I decided to continue, I round out 4th (for the first time ever), get into 5th thinking "i hope nothing breaks" and watch the speedo climb to 150!! (a new personal best) I slow down to sane speeds and give him a call.

Him: "lol yo where the hell are you???"

me: "man 150 is pretty fast"

him: "whaat?? yo you blew me away, I looked down for 2 seconds, looked up and you were GONE! no joke"

me: "lol"

him: "man I need some twin-turbos NOW"

So now he wants to get a VR4 lol.

I know, none of the races were closely matched, but I take whatever I can get and I definitely had fun. I always seem to be the bully in all my races, I just wish someone would bully me lol.

haha, still fun to just fly sometimes. Hey are you still having that open injector issue? I just ran across that thread on 3si. Might be able to help you with it

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Nope, it was just a loose injector plug from when I was in there last.

Thanks, that must have been one long road or a big hill lol, or one off speedo. I had a little more room, but I wasn't feeling too comfortable so I didn't want to push my luck, car was still pulling hard though. I need to find a place to top it out sometime.

RT 222hp
RT/TT 320hp...tops at ~160

And there were 3 passengers in the car....so figure an additional 450-600lbs to drag....which is probably why he asked about hte hill. I'm gonna lean towards a completely inaccurate speedo or a nice downhill slope.

All though I'll never tell my weight you are right on. I dunno speedo might have been off. I guess it could have been a down hill slope that the eye couldnt catch..The road was Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte , N.C. really long nice straight away...

Re: VR4 vs Vigor and CRX

Lol, at those high speeds its completely possible for hte speedo to be off quite a bit. Different sized rims would make a pretty significant difference too.

Not saying you didn't see 155mph on the speedo. Ya know?
