what injectors for t28
Ive been lookin around for new mods for my 98 eclipse gsx. I decided i want to go with the fp big t28, I want more horsepower but am not concerned with going unGodly fast. What size injectors should i run i plan on runnin at 14-15 psi daily. also what size fuel pump 255?. As far as intercoolers would a aftermarket one be better or would the stock ic be more practical? Would a SAFC be necessary if i plan on upgrading the turbo and fuel system or is that better left for the bigger turbos? Id like to make as much power as i can out of the t28 but thats as big as i plan on going at the moment. I know its alot of stupid questions but id appreciate any suggestions thanks.

Re: what injectors for t28
OK lets start at the beginning here. You can't just toss on that turbo and just max it out. If you want to max out this turbo you first have to get the 255 with a fpr. Then your gonna need dsm link cause you will need at least 720cc which is more then safc can compensate for. A front mount intercooler is a must for that kind of horsepower. you will need a mbc I'm kinda assuming you already have one and a BOV though. Forget daily driver PSI tell me how much you want Max hp and max PSI.
And post your mods up.

Re: what injectors for t28
Well I got the boost gauge, turbo xs boost controller, the k&n cold air intake, and megan 3 inch downpipe and catback exhaust. Ive got the 1st gen BOV, with the new stock ngk plugs and wires on order at the moment. My goal is 300 hp out of the T28 or anywhere close to that with max psi around 15-16. I knew i had to upgrade the fuel system with the fuel pump and the injectors but wasnt aware that id need the pressure regulator with 720cc injectors and dsm link. I can do any of the mechanical stuff myself but Im not too smart when it comes to the computer modifications with the dsm link . But if thats what i need i guess ill have to learn

Re: what injectors for t28
For 300hp...you probably only need some 550's maybe some 650's I think 720's would be overkill...and you would definatly want an AFC or something to control the bigger injectors....and you will want some sort of datalogging software to help you tune....with the fuel pump you can probably get away with the 190lph....with the intercooler you dont necessarily need to put a front mount on...you can upgrade your side mount and be fine....and it will be cheaper...but there are good fmic kits on ebay for pretty cheap...

Re: what injectors for t28
yea but lets not get too far ahead. If you only want 300 hp the t28 is not the right choice. 16g all the way for that powerband cheaper! and hes right 300 hp setup go with safc2 550's and 190 basically my set up.

Re: what injectors for t28
Well i thought about the t28 because its a direct replacement for the t25. But if im gonna need to do the the SAFC then the evo 3 does seem like the better way to go. I was lookin up parts for that; 500 for the turbo and 300 for the install kit on machv.com. thats about the same price close to 800 for a fp big t28. with the evo3 16G are you required to put on that new exhaust manifold and O2 sensor housing, or can you use the stock parts?

Re: what injectors for t28
Don't even bother with that POS t-28. Its bairly larger then a small 16g! Look at this chart and compare the diffrences in compressor and turbin sizes.
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Turbo-compare.html BEST PRICE ON INTERNET Turbochargers.com 2g kit.. $699 http://www.turbochargers.com/store/p...roducts_id=186 Copper Antiseze stick $12 RRE.com "garage sale" 7cm turbo gaskets (turbo/o2) $10 + shipping Mitsu Parts 4 new turbo bolts, 3 o2 bolts, 1 o2 nut $30ish You really can't beat that price.. I've putt on two, 2g/14b's & one 2g/16g. The only thing I would hightly recomend is buying a 91 oil drain tube for the extra $30. Dont even bother fileing the 2g, it's a pain in the ass, and just not worth the $30 in my book. The 2g install kit from turbochargers.com comes with the 2 oil drain tube gaskets. MAKE SURE to buy the oil drain gaskets if you put your own kit together. DON'T TIGHTEN THE OIL DRAIN BOLTS MORE THEN 8-10FT/LB (snug tight) or you will spin the bolts and need to retap the holes on the oil pan. Trust me, you don't want to retap them... It's not fun... Good day sir..

Re: what injectors for t28
You will want 650cc/rw255hp/afpr to supply consistant fuel for the 16g. If you never planed on running more then 20psi on the evo316 you could get away with a 550cc/rw190 setup, though I would still hightly recomend buying an AFPR. Not everyone incounters over-run with the 190's but I was over running my stock fuel pressure regulator with a rewired stock 2g fuel pump and have the dsmlink logs to prove it.. Mod once, mod right!

Re: what injectors for t28
Damn thats a lot better price than what i was lookin at before, and they throw in a new exhaust manifold. Thanks for the advice. I think thats what im gonna go for then forget that t28. Doesn't the 91 oil drain tube come in the kit or do i need to order that separate? And another stupid question, the kit says only works with the factory piping. I have aftermarket exhaust and intake but factory IC piping but i plan on upgrading that later will i still be able to do that? Thanks
