repetitive chirping sound
86 TC Signature
45K I have been hearing an interrmitent, soft chirping/swishing sound from time to time for 6 months coming from "up front." It now occurs all the time and is a bit louder, corresponding to car speed, not engine speed. I'm guessing some kind of bearing or the odometer cable. Any suggestions of how to identify or fix it? |

Re: repetitive chirping sound
Hello
It could be your speed sensor for the cruise contoll. Try looking for a round cylinder in line with the spedo. cable. Unscrew the connection and see if your noise goes away. Of course the spedo won't work if that's disconnected. I am not sure if your car has that set up but it's worth a try. It could also be a dry spedo. cable. If you can get it apart, lube it with white lithium grease. Mike
