Completed: "Old Faithful" diorama

Hi all,

Finally I managed to complete my "Old Faithful" diorama. The model is from the Tamiya 1/24 Citroen 2CV given the rust, mud and many various other treatments. The progress is in the WIP thread.

Here are the pictures...

Looks really good.I like the rust treatment and the general grimey look you have inflicted onto the model.Needs someone to rescue it and give it a full restoration!!!

Thanks for the reply guys.

Jayson62: There is actually no door under the tarp. That's why the tarp is there...

Thanks for the compliments. As for the duration, I make the dents, rust, flat tyres and broken windshield is about a month on and off (should take only a few days). Painting of the models just take 2 days because there is no need to make the paint shine and a week of rusting, mud and oil treatment on the car.

The groundwork takes about a week non stop including building the fence, the dead tree, gravel road and mud pool.

So, all in all it took me about a month and a half to complete this diorama (not including a year time-off on the car to concentrate on other builds )

That's got to be one of the coolest little dioramas i've ever seen. Not sure how 'faithful' the car is though, hehe.

Re: Completed: "Old Faithful" diorama

Wow that looks great, It is funny though, most people spend the time to make a car look as clean and shiny as possible, and you do the opposite, And I like yours just as much, if not more. great job

Re: Completed: "Old Faithful" diorama

Nice diorama. I love your rust on your car, but not the tree. But good effort on it. And if the grass on some angle is alot more long, it might look perfect, just my
