86 Crown Vic gas leak

I have a 1986 Crown Victoria with a nasty gas leak, the gas line has 2 small holes about an inch apart from each other, I had this problem before and simply cut off the problem area and used a rubber hose and 2 clamps to resolve the issue temporarily. Any other thoughts or ideas? I really wish not to spend a bunch of money unless need be. Thanks.
