Rearview Mirror mount

91 ford tbird ...

I bought it used and when it had work done, someone accidently knocked off my rearview mirror. Now I know there is a special kinda glue (believe me, i tried) but its just not strong enough or doesnt bond fast enough. There is also a metal mount permantly glued to my windshield that I dont think would come off... but Ive tried glueing the mirror back on the mount (holding it for 5-10mins) and it wont stay.

My question is, is there any glue that can bond quicker and still mount it? I tried Silicone, the rearview mirror glue at auto part stores..

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I admit It is a minor/stupid problem to have, but it is a problem nevertheless.

Re: Rearview Mirror mount

If you're trying to glue the mirror itself to the metal mount on the windshield stop. There is a set screw that holds it on.

Re: Rearview Mirror mount

The flange on the mirror could be broken, take a look at it and make sure. If it is broken, you can pick another one up at a boneyard pretty cheap.
