Head Light Switch Lever?

One of the things that I notice on my 94 RS is when you pull the the lever to turn on high beams if you just pull it half way the whole road lights up almost like if both High and Low beams were on at the same time. If you pull it all the way the lights dim to other high beam or lowbeam. It would be nice if I could get that light effect all the time, What is happening? Are both Hi & Low on at the same time? Tom

Re: Head Light Switch Lever?

Yes, Both high and low beams are on at the same time. No you can not alter your lights to have both of them on. One it's illegal. Two, you would be getting flashed every second of every day that your driving with both your high and low beams on.
I do what you have mentioned when someone is driving with their high beams on. I pull back on my high beam switch just a tad so that both my high beams, low beams and my fog lights are on. They usually get the point and turn off their highbeams 97% of the time anyways. If they don't I keep the switch pulled back just enough to leave all my lights on till I pass the driver.
I can be such an ass some days!!! Hey, a guys got to see, right?

Actually, running your high beams in retaliation for someone else doing it is illegal as well. Its been known to cause accidents too, when the other guy gets blinded...now you have 2 blinded drivers running into each other.

you can get that effect all the time, you'll need some wire, some electrical tape, a couple toggle switches and maybe an hour of time
