1990 LeSabre electrical problem
Hi, 1990 Lesabre, 115,000 miles, runs ok..Lately if I try the power window down button, my heater fan blows. Sometimes upon putting the key in the ignition, I get a clicking noise through the speakers, and the radio goes on and off quickly. Yesterday the car stalled at 35 miles per hour, and I couldn't start it again, it would crank, but not turn over. I waited 35 minutes, and it started fine. Same thing this morning, no problem....Fuses all check ok. Anyone have ideas? Or where can I find a pin out diagram for the main wiring harness connector? Any help appreciated. Also, not sure if it's related, but the car will run "rough" at certain times...like it's missing a cylinder or something. It could be while at a red light, or just after starting or after running after 40 minutes.....I am not sure if all these things are related or not, and I know electrical problems are difficult/ie expensive to find, so trying to do some legwork myself.

I would check for bad grounds. If it's a wire bolted to a body member I would take it off and clean it. Do a search on this forum. I've done a few post about this. I would goto your liberary and see if they have a good book on your car. The Liberary near me also has AllData on it's computers. Very helpful. I've also gone to the dealer and looked at their books. Re: 1990 LeSabre electrical problem
When it stalled last night, the brake light, the volts, oil etc. lights were lit up, as well as the service engine soon light too.
OK, just checked it out again. If I have the car started, turn on the headlights, and turn the interior dimmer on(for dash/instrument lights), the heater will blow even if I don't turn it on, if I turn the radio on, the radio goes on/off/on/off. Turning the interior dimmer off stops this from happening. Oh, if I try to roll up/down the power windows, they go soooooo sloooowww and the heater/ac fan blows when I press ANY of the power window buttons. So like the above poster said, it's probably a ground, something has to be backfeeding(like a hot is touching a ground and backfeeding power into the other components), but where do I start looking for this? Are there LOTS of ground connections on this car? Last edited by bri2672002; 10-27-2005 at 07:04 PM. |

I have almost the same problem. 1988 Buick Lesabre. When the car is off, the fan continures to blow. I put a relay to stop this but it is a pain in the butt. Any suggestions? Did you fix your?
