Smile Finished - Lamborghini Gallardo SE

This car was started a few weeks ago, with hopes that it would be ready for our big show here in Atlanta yesterday. I completed it Thursday night.

This real car was the inspiration for this build. The roof, engine cover, mirrors, and louvers ahead of the tailights are painted black on the SE version. The interior has a special color scheme which I replicated, and a 'Lamborghini' script on the dash.

I did not use the clear engine cover on this build, and the wheels are not correct for the SE, but that's ok. The paint scheme is what drew me to this car, and I think I replicated it well

The exterior color is Cobra Colors Verde Ithaca with about 20 drops of Nissan Daytona blue added to 1/2 a bottle of the Green to darken the shade a bit. I wanted to make it different than the Verde Ithaca that is for the Murcielago.

Fantastic: those color (hey it's the same of my beetle!) match perfectly the deep red of rear lights: awesome work

Simply stunning.
Any reason why you didn't use the clear engine cover?

Can't agree more, having seen the car too, the photos just don't seem to show the true quality of it.

Re: Finished - Lamborghini Gallardo SE

I think this was probably the best Lambo at the show! Great job on this one. I wouldnt have thought green would look so good on a car.

There were a few reasons. The kit I used didn't have the lower 1/2 of the cover to mount it to the body. I could have made the lower 1/2 pretty easily from scratch, but I only had 3 weeks to finish 3 cars, and time was not there. I already have a Gallardo with a clear engine cover that I love to much to steal it from. I also like that there is more black surface with the solid engine cover.

Thanks all!

You guys are right about not capturing the color well. My camera seems to capture the reflection of the golden pearl better than the green pigment. I've tried photographing this car in natural light, under a bulb, and in flourescent light and they all come out pretty much the same.
