Cool TD05-16G TURBO - 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI

I'm currently interested in buying a 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI that is for sale, but I know absolutely nothing about these cars.

182,000 original kilometres. Now, the guy told me the original 14b turbo went, caused a bunch of damage, he took it in and went the extra mile with it.... He is the 2nd owner ( since 1995 ). Stored winters, the whole she bang.

He says that it is bored over 20, has the 16 G turbo, 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back, serious head work, lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch, slotted rotors and cross drilled rotors, lowering kit, gauges, etc..etc....Says the body is mint. Says he has taken steps so that this wont happen again. Told me he has $5000 just in the motor. 300 + Hp apparently.

I called the place he had it done, they've re assured me that it was there 2.5 years ago for some serious work.

Anyway, is it worth $6000 Canaadian dollars ? For that it comes as is and with a cover and clear corners. Told me he d go $6500 certified and e tested. FOR $7000, he'll throw in everything, but as is...turbo timer, apex AFC, some kind of software / computer related shit. He has flo charts, quarter mile results, receipts and all...Told me it does low 13's. At low 13's is this car really a 300 hp car ?

I'm not familiar with eagle talons, all i know is that they ve taken some serious scrutiny as of late. Can anyone help me out here ?

Re: TD05-16G TURBO - 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI

since its awd, it should go a little bit quicker then 13sec, sounds like a good buy to me, wait for some of the experts to look at this though

LOL...I'm Canadian my friend...182,000 KILOMETRES, not miles. Maybe 84,000 miles or so...I'm not sure exactly....And the motor has been redone....He's put $4000 - $5000 into it....Stored every winter for the last 10 years.

I'm still lost...LOl...Any experts about ?

Bring the car to a mechanic you trust if the car is nearby, get it all checked out so you dont end up buying a lemon.

Re: TD05-16G TURBO - 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI

sounds like the guy who owned it knew what he was doing. that car should be able to put out well over 300 hp with a few more upgrades, maybe even with the current ones. i don't know what $7000 canadien transfers to american in but it sounds like a good deal. i'd say buy the whole package. see if he'll hook up the turbo timer, afc, and computer shit for you though. maybe even tryin jewing him down a littl bit too. try hard enough you can probably get everything for $6500, maybe even $6000 if you're lucky.

Re: TD05-16G TURBO - 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI

car sounds solid, but def get someone who knows the 4g63 to check it out to give it the ok. He should be pulling faster than low 13's with the shit he has....5k into an engine goes a loooong way. If you do buy it, get all the fuel tuning mods, you will need them. Make sure you test drive the car, and take it on the freeway to see how boost holds...

300 hp should be able to break 12's in awd with his stuff...easily.

If he has the small 16g, low 13's are resonable....it is usually good for 300 ponies...

If he has the big 16g he should have better times than 13s.

Re: TD05-16G TURBO - 93 Eagle Talon AWD TSI

113k miles.

Cant go by ETs. I would rather see the mph. Anyone can fuck up the launch and shift like an asshole, no matter how much power the car has.

That being said, I also think it sounds like a decent car, but its hard to tell over the internet. A car like that would go for ~4000 USD around here I'm sure.

Thumbs up 93 tALON aWD TSI

This forum kicks ass...Thanks for all the helpful tips...

I went and checked out the car. Now I know why he does low 13's, the guy can t shift worth a shit. The car is fucking absolutely mint. The guy is very particular and knows his shit. Talk about meticulous. He has receipts, paperwork, flo charts, data, records, etc...This, that, the other over the last 10 years. The body is mint and the car is very very quick...1st and 2nd blew my fucking mind.

I'm going to pick her up tonight around 4 pm EST.

I'm still unsure as to whether I should buy the extras...Apex Afc, turbo timer, data chord thing a ma jig and computer shite...LOL....He wants $7000 for everything, $6000 with cover and clear corners. So if anyone is around the next couple of hours, let me know if ya think it's worth it....And thanks for your help...These cars are new to me, time to start researching the hll out of it...

$6000 CDN = $4833 US
$7000 CDN = $5639 US

Oh yea, I also talked to the mechanic that did all the work 2 years ago....He said that if he s selling it for $6000, he's giving it to me for next to nothing...

And what s the diff between a 16g and a big 16 g turbo ?

All i know is that his says TD-05H on it.....

Cheers.

If you weren't in Canadia, I'd try to plug my car, but this sounds like a pretty good deal.

If the "data chord thing a ma jig and computer shite" could be explained a little better, we could help you decide whether or not to go that route...

93 Talon Awd Tsi

The thing a ma jig has something to do with software, plugging it into the computer, tuning, etc...Unfamiliar territory....
