a few more DSM Qs that i cant find ans. to!
1. do the 4G63 Turbo, and the 4G63 NA have the same head?
2. will the 2G turbo mani make a big difference to spool time without porting? even if it will, can someone please link to a site that has an overview of porting (in general) 3. the 1G i am about to buy is a AWD, the tranny LOOKS to still be an AWD, but with something taken off, the rear end still has the bolts for AWD, but no transfer case/axles. does someone know how the link from the tranny and the transfer case is hooked up at the tranny? pics would help! 4. what is an O2 dump tube? how does it work? 5. someone using the GM MAF please post how much it cost you and what you bought. i can only find one write up on this, and i dont like trusting just one source! (on the internet anyway) ----------- kk, that is all i cant find! about #3: i couldn't get a really good look at the trans, i was expecting something that looked like an axle plug-in facing the rear of the car, or just metal (as you would expect to see in a FF tranny), however what i saw was were it looked just like something had been taken off of the trany. i was looking from the driverside towards the trans, and there were 2-3 bolt holes toward what would be the back of trans according to the car and a perfectly flat surface facing me as far over as i could see but the exhaust was in the way. it LOOKED like something bolted up to that spot. perhaps the LSD? not sure about the setup in these cars and being that i do not have the chitlins for the car yet... the guy who owns it says it drove fine so i was thinking that they converted it to a FF tranny, but now that i got a much better look at it i am not so sure what happened. worst case i have to buy an AWD tranny, i already bought the transfer case for $50 and the two axles for $50. all that is left (that i know of) is the driveshaft, and perhaps a $300-$400 tranny? eather way it goes, even with the remanufactured head i am getting and re-ringing the pistons the car will come out MUCH cheeper than buying one that was running (even including the cost of the tranny) 113,000 miles on the car anyway, hope someone has an idea here.

1) yes. Cams are different though.
2) no. for porting, see www.vfaq.com as usual. 3) Tcase slips over the output shaft and is held to the tranny itself by 5 bolts, M12x1.25, 17mm head, 3 long 2 short. It sits right under the oil pan. Its possible to still be using a AWD tranny and not have the tcase bolted up, the output shaft has its own seal. 4) O2 housign with the WG portion dumped to atmosphere rather than back into the main exhaust like stock. Sounds like ass, hardly helps at all with boost creep, I dont see the point ![]() 5) I paid about 300 for teh maft, maf, couplers, and tbolt clamps, then made my own UICP.

is the compression for the NT and turbo engines.
