1984 Custom 10 pickup two problems
Hi, i've had this truck since November, pretty much only use for hauling and as a spare vehicle. Anyway, it has two problems. First off it is hard to start when it is hot, but it starts easily when it is cold. Secondly, it sounds and feels like something on the underbody is loose, like right under the driver's seat. I can feel it whenever I hit a bump. Could this be worn out shocks? I'm pretty sure they are original. Any suggestions?
thanks, Patrick |

Re: 1984 Custom 10 pickup two problems
Hard starting.......do you mean it turns over slowly??
If so, chevy starter motors sometimes get heated up by the exhaust too much and their electrical resistance goes up, making them turn over more slowly. Often, there is a heat shield that goes around the starter. If yours is missing, they are available aftermarket. Also those thumps might be a loose exhaust, bad transmission mount or loose transmission crossmember. |
