Re: Major Problem!!!

Prolly not for most people...but I have the mechanical skills of a DUMB monkey...But hell...I might give it a try, I need to learn sometime!!!

Some possible good news though...I talked to a mechanic at the Mitsu dealership and he told me it might not be the head gasket because there wasn't a lot of white smoke coming out the exhaust.

Re: Major Problem!!!

Where was the oil coming from? You can have oil go all over the place from a few different things.. like when my valve cover breather was plugged the pressure went through the oil dipstick and oil went all over... also my oil cap came off once and again oil went all over... none of that would explain the overheating but those were just examples....

Re: Major Problem!!!

Ok here's what's going on now...I did a little more searching now that my engine has cooled down so I can touch it and stuff. My dad and I drained what was left of the coolant and there was no oil...WTF?!?!? But all over under the hood oil is everywhere. My dad is thinking that it's not a blown head gasket but an oil line that isn't cooperating with us and draining my oil and in turn making the car over heat. I have almost no oil in there right now and it's still dripping. Is there any easy way to track down a bad oil line??? I'm still going to do the compression test and stuff to cover my bases though. The oil is coming from the passenger side though...Thanks for all the help guys!!!

Re: Major Problem!!!

hmm...if i were you i'd start looking at hoses that run around, see if any of them ruptured, also, does the car still start? i dont know the way that the engines are layed out for the turbo models, but i'm thinking it might be some type of oil like for that.. i'm not sure

Re: Major Problem!!!

I imagine the car will still start however I'm not too keen on starting it since I believe it was overheating due to lack of oil which can't be a good thing. But the engine didn't sieze though...I was thinking about buying some really cheap oil and pouring it in and then looking for a leak from up top or the bottom with the car off and if I can't find it that way then putting some more oil in and startin' her up to see. Hopefully I can pinpoint this soon as I hate no driving it everyday...

Re: Major Problem!!!

Did you check the oil lines going to the turbo?
