Problems with VENT setting.
Hi,
I have posted this a while back but got no replies. I have 96 Regal 3.8 liter engine with climate control that is dual zone (separate setting for driver and passenger). When I use the VENT setting (with A/C or without), when I drive, the air cuts on and off. I am driving on somewhat bumpy highway so the fan will cut off and then few bumps down the road it will come back on. Do you guys think it is the fan or maybe the climate controller? Thanks, Maurycy |

Re: Problems with VENT setting.
does your climate control system use vacuum to move the blend doors (defrost,vent,bi-level) or if you are sure it is the fan you could have a loose connection at the fan

Re: Problems with VENT setting.
Could you tell me how to locate the fan? Do I have to take the dash off to access it?
Thanks, Maurycy |

Re: Problems with VENT setting.
the fan should be under the passenger side dash and acceable from there not sure on the 96' i have a 88' and it's not diffucult to get to there. goto autozone.com and enter your vehicle info and you can look at the chilton manual for your car go under repair manuals just to be sure..Good Luck

Re: Problems with VENT setting.
I was able to get to the fan that's underneath the glovebox. It works fine and all the connections are tight and secured. I was also able to determine that when I am getting no air out of the vents, the fan is actually working (you can hear it). So I assume that it might be the temp controller module. I will try to get a new(er) one and swap them.
Thanks, Maurycy |
