Smile golf2 front suspension shopping list

my car (UK '89 golf gti 8v rhd manual steering no a/c) has the following problems...

knackered steering rack
sloppy n/s anto-roll bar end bush
soggy front dampers
pulls slightly to the left if you let go of the steering (but straight under breaking)

so i want to compleatly refresh the front end. (the rear will happen later after my wallet recovers). the question is, what do i need other than the obvious rack, springs and dampers? i'm going to keep the stock ride height. i'm specifically interested in extra things that you wouldn't know about unless you'd done it before, such as replacing the bump stops, etc.

also, just had a quick look on eurocarparts and is the "stabilizer bar link - end link with bush" the anti-roll bar bush i want? i'm assuming it's a good idea to replace these in pairs?

furthermore, re the pulling to one side, i've checked the wishbones (aka a-arms or control arms) and they look fine against a straight edge, so i'm guessing it's the strut top bearing that's bad. could it be anything else that i'm not going to be replacing? (tyre pressures and make / model are identical).

tia,
jules.

cool, just picked up the following:

2x boge turbo gas front dampers & strut
2x track rod ends (rh & rh)
2x ball joints
rear engine mount
2x strut top bearings
2x bump stops
2x anti-roll bar links

the motor factors i went to didn't sell the bushed's for the steering rack, and didn't know anything about a 'crush washer' - do i need one?

tia!

apparantly i need to replace rather than reuse the 'crush washer' when connecting the new steering rack to the steering column...

also, any ideas what camber / toe angles i should use for 'enthusiastic' driving with stock suspension height?

tia,
jules.

Re: golf2 front suspension shopping list

I know of no crush washer there, there might be a lock washer you can replace if you want. Perhaps they're thinking of the thrust washer on the pinion shaft adjuster. Camber is -43/64 +/- 23/64 degrees; Caster is +1 37/64 +/- 1/2 degrees; Toe is 0 +/- 3/64 inches.
