you jumbo.. in case you don't have the manual to rely on.. i can give you an overall idea of how to do it... hopefully in the most simple lingo....
1. Decide where you want to place it... you should have this spot easily accessible (in case, you want to tweek some settings)...... or you can hide it completely ... up to you...... BUT don't mount it yet... keep it loose but just make sure you know placement and the direction it'll be placed (so that the wires can be easily hidden) 2. Depending on your amp... you should have these basic wires... the RCA left/right (white/red) -- battery (thicker gauge/usually red) -- remote (thinner one/mabe blue) -- ground (thick gauge/usually black) -- and the speaker wire.... soo..... 3. The RCA/Battery/Remote go from about the full interior length of the car... the RCA and Remote go from the rear of your deck... the Battery cable... well -- goes to the battery.... Your deck should have at least one set of RCA preouts... if it doesn't, you need a modulator... but i suspect it's aftermarket so you have it, i'm sure....... the remote wire is color coded (usually blue).... same from the wire harness to your deck... there should be a loose one for you... it may be labeled diskchanger or something similar... and if you have a disk changer.. you can just 'Y' it.... and the Battery cable goes to the battery... you should be able to find a firewall (a hole from beneath the pedals to the engine bay) Battery cable goes right thru there.... BTW.. . you should have fuse holder before you connect this cable to the positive terminal... it's better for you.... and your amp..... 4. For hiding those wires well you can do the easiest thing... run it along the drivers side of the interior... detach the rubber moldings and lift the carpet... you should be able to run it "invisibly" all the way to the trunk (i'm assuming your amp is in there)...... you should try to cut the excess especially if you don't plan on moving the amp too much..... 5. Now the Ground wire needs to be screwed to the frame of the car.... meaning metal not carpet....... this usually is a short run... depending on the placement of your amp.... the speaker wires go to the speakers! note the positive/negative!...... 6. Then go ahead and mount the unit where you need to...... try to mount it securely as possible!... ...... and then boom your ass around town.... :sun: well bruddah i hope this helps you at least a little... and maybe anyone else that wants to do an install themselves..... i may have left something out.. but i'm sure somebody will pick it up, if i did.... so ya... good luck! |

make sure you scrape away the paint from your ground spot and leave bare metal. Run the power wires down one side of your car and the RCA down the other side of middle. You wanna leave at least two feet between the power and RCA or you will get alt. whine.

yo jumbo... usually you can get a kit package for an amp... like a 200 watt amp or more... the connection that goes from your pre-outs on your deck to your amp is an RCA stereo cable... it has two RCA/phono jacks on either side... and they are color-coded (red/white)... as for the RCA cables ... go w/ a premium gold series if you decide to buy separately -- i'm not sure if you've got a spot that you go to, but if you want an accessible place.. RadioShack
has the necessary cables for all your needs... (over-priced, tho)... well alrite.. hope that helps....
