my friend just got a 95 or 96 eclipse not too sure of the year. The engine is shot, not even worth to try and rebuild it. But here is where the problem comes in, all the jdm engines i have found are from 90-94 plus i believe this car is OBD2 and i have yet to find a site with a conversion harness id appciate the help. Thanks all

I don't really understand what you're trying to ask. What model is your friend's eclipse? RS, GS, GST, GSX? You really need specify this in order for us to help you

Basically your saying you want to put a JDM 4g63t motor in a RS... Sorry buddy but its not happening!

no no no i dont want to put a turbo in it im just having trouble finding any other engine than the 4g63 he wants to keep it n/a also where on the block can i find the engine code

You were already told that the NA engine is a 420a. You cannot put a 4g63 in it. You have to either rebuild it or get another 420a. Also eclipses dont have ODB conversion harness' that is a Honda thing.

ok so i guess they didnt make a nonturbo 4g63 ok got that now do any of you know where i can find a site with the 420a on it for sale, cuz i cant rebuild the engine. it has a hole bigger than a silver dollar in the block. Also is it possible to but the 4g63 engine in? thanks for all the help

they made a NT 4g63 but it was in the 1st Gens. 2nd generation NT are all 420a's. do you want a new motor or a used one? jasper engines sell new/rebuild. dsmtrader.com has people selling stuff somebody on there probably has a used one.

ok id stop thinking 4g63 all together... you have a 420a witch is a chrysler engine. it comes with a chrysler transmission and everything else. to put a mitsu engine (4g63) you would need everything from a tranny to a new crossmember up front. its a swap that cost upwards of 4k for most people. look in the faq they have a basic parts list.

basically you have a engine from a dodge neon. its sad, i know.. but true. Now you can find a neon motor but only if you can use your head again. The neon head is mirrored (ehaust in back, intake in front) from the eclipse.

Look on ebay, look at your local salvage yards. dsmtrader is a good source. your looking for a eninge from a 95-99 n/t eclipse/talon. i think the dodge avenger had some of these motors too im not sure. You can find a 95-99 i think neon motor too if you can reuse your head (im not sure what else needs changed)

if you can handle some custom stuff you can use a 2.4 from a stratus/cirrus too. the intake will be in the front but its been done.
