Re: my oil?
the thicker oil would be better in ur case, since you wont have to deal with colder temperatures, im not sure how much of a temperature change you have in cali but you may be able to just use a 30 weight oil

Re: my oil?
Any opinions on oil for older motors? I have a 95 gsr too, but with like 110k. I tried one of those "oils for older cars" once. God what a f-ing disaster, I burned 2/3 a quart a day for like a week and a half before I had a chance to change it out.
Hope I didnt damage anything... Since then I've been using 10w30 and 5w30 in the winter. any better ideas? Also anyone tried the Royal Purple, or whatever it's called? Is it really better? |

using 10w-30 is good in warmer climates and 5w-30 is colder. use full synthetic though. it has been proven to give that extra 1-2 hp. it also does not break down like regular oil. really only the best for my car. i have 212k miles on mine and it does not smoke at all!
