I just bought a 94 4-Runner. The only problem with the truck is the air conditioning makes a bad noise when it is turned on. It sounds like the compressor to me (sounds like a bearing is rattling around in there), the air blows cold nonetheless.
Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to pay for parts and labor to repair it or if anyone ran into a similar problem and if it was a minor repair or not. As for freon, I know it is an R-12 system so I might get it converted to R-134 b/c it is much better for the environment and cheaper, although not as cold. |

for anyone that is interested, my Toyota dealer could install the part for around $750. The labor is $200 and parts make up the rest so if you know a mechanic that will let you use your own parts, I found the parts for very cheap on directpart.com. ($270)
