Car seat for newborn
hey all,
has anyone had any experience with putting a carseat for a newborn in the back? I have standard suspension and it is a really rough ride which was never a problem untill my little one is coming along (IA). I am worried that the rough ride might cause a problem with head trauma. Wifee has that cushion head restrain and all but i was wondering if any of you potent males (or females) have dealt with this issue. I know a number of you might suggest change to bils/rancho/ etc... but at this time that aint feasable. any thoughts? thanks

Both my kids rode in the back of my Xterra since they were very young (one since being a newborn, the other about 1 1/2). They're riding in a child seat that's attached to another seat with cusioning. I can't see how that can be harmful. Plus they're high up, so a side impact has a lower chance of hurting them. Sometimes new parents worry too much. Just think of how kids survived ridding in horse and buggies, model-T's. etc. They're much more durable than you think. My youngest is a tank and I can't believe he survives just fine from all the spills, bruises, etc that he inflicts on himself by running every which way he can.
If you can't afford Bilsteins, try lowering the pressure in your tires until you can. 28 pounds or so. |

Re: Car seat for newborn
My son, who is now 8 mos., has rode in the back since he was a newborn. Yeah, it is a little bumpy but he is fine. BTW, I hear ya on trying to do new MODS with having a new baby. They are expensive and time consuming!!!! Congrats!
