97 Bonneville power seats
I am having problems with my power seats on my SSEI. I have the seat switch located on the center console. For some reason none of the seat adjustments IE: up/down Back and forth work on either side. Only the airbag buttons work. I checked the relay under the dash and the 60 amp fuse under the hood an both are fine. Nothing underneath looks burnt etc.
Anyone know what this is??? I can see a blown electric motor but not on both sides at once. |

Re: 97 Bonneville power seats
I just looked at my 93 wiring diagram for the seats. My eyes nearly crossed. Here's what it looks like to me. The lumbar switches supply +12v when pressed to the Lumbar Control Module but the up, down and tilt switches supply ground to the Seat Control Module when pressed. Both modules are supplied power from circuit breaker #4 IP fuse panel.
What does all of this mean? Well, it's not a fuse or a circuit breaker problem if your lumbar controls work. There is no external relay in the diagram so I'm not sure which one you checked. My first guess would simply be poor a connection to the SCM. In my car it is located under the driver's seat. Not under the carpet but on the bottom of the seat itself. I'm not sure if yours is the same or not. See if you cant track down the location of the SCM and unplug and reconnect the connection a couple of times. If yours is under the carpet I might suspect corroded connectors as these cars have been known to develop leaks in the door seals. |
