Wow... This has gotta be the 20th time...

We were at a show last night... Nothing special, we go to a few every weekend. Anyways:

For some of you who have never been to a death metal hardcore show, there are crews... If you mess with one person in this crew, you are messing with about 12 or so... Not smart.

Anyways, there was a huge pit-break about half way in the song, and some jackass gothic "I cut myself for fun" kid ran in the pit and started hitting one of the skin-heads... (in DMH pits, to anyone who didnt know better, it looks like were just throwing our arms around and kicking... Haha) Little did this dude know, that you DO NOT DO THAT

Skin-Head turned around and layed the kid out with one swift hit to the throught. 2-3minutes later... All 12 Skin-Heads ducked out of the club. Leaving the bloody remnants of this guy.

Yes, it seems a bit silly to me as well... But damn.

The cops came and arrested anyone under age (so I heard, we bailed out) for questioning.

The Gothic-Super-Star was sent to the ER for a fractured skull... Last I heard he was ok, and he got lucky, evading brain damage.

I was in the pit right next to this dude when this all happened... I almost lost my dinner at the sight of this.

Just a little fun story from my past few nights.

Anyone else have some experiences such as this they would like to share?

Just because they dress differantly doesn't mean they are any differant from me and you. I happen to know a few goths, and my band is friends with a goth band, and they are all good people.

3 (of 5) members of the goth band are studying Art, computer technology and Business at my university.

all of my goths friends:
1) don't drink
2) don't swear
3) don't smoke
4) believe in animal rights
5) are anti-drug,
and are very social

Don't let your steriotypical view of the 'gothic' world get in the way of the truth. People die for making such mistakes.

Dude im sorry, but around here, the stereotypical "Goths" are 100% douche bags. Im not one to judge anyone, or anything. But seriously man. Half of them are burnt out on 2 or 3 drugs at a time, smoke cigarretes in tight public places, to cause disorder, so they can rant about how we dont except them. The guys wear DRESSES out in public, one flashed a group of children once downtown... Wearing a thong under-there... Wow thats cool.

Around here, they're attention-hungry know-it-alls that have no opinions for themselves, listen to the same damn music, wear the same clothes, act the same way, wear the same "different" Sponge-Bob bookback... They're just not so different.

Thats what being Goth is about... Being DIFFERENT

There are only a few true Gothic people that I have come in contact with. I have respect for these people.

I respect every human for his, or her, out look on life, and how they think they should pursue it... Whether it be dressing strange... Or acting strange. Its your ideals... Run with them I guess.

People say im am truely different... Here is why.

I play Varsity football... Yet I wear my own shirts that state things such as "Bring Back Prohibition" "Kill your local drug dealer" "Straight-Edge" "S . X . E" and things of that nature. I have no worry what-so-ever about how I look.. Hence the dred-locks.

I have opinions, that sometime annoy closed minded people... Who would rather stick their head in the ground, than maybe open their minds a bit.

Im 6foot6inches tall... I drive 300ZedX's...

If I fit in with the rest of my gigantic football buddies, I would be driving a 1997 SExplorer with 22" fake spinners, three-15's in the back, blaring the same damn G-G-G-G-G-Unit song all day long. More aware of how I look than a movie-star.

But no... I have no own ideals, and opinions... Thats what makes me truely "different"

Goth, skinhead, punk etc...all cries for attention or percieved forms of social rebellion. Stops being so cool when nobody reputable will hire you looking/acting like a mental patient, you can't pay your bills, support a family and so on....
When you're younger it all seems so original...but it's all been done. Have nothing against the music as an art form- just the attitudes that seem to go along...

ah , so true. The worst is when you see people that are over 20 and still like that. Who says music lyrics don't have a deep impact on the mind? You don't catch people who listen to only jazz acting like that I tell you!

I also listen to some of the most chilled music ever. Its not like I sit upstairs in my room listening to growling, to go to sleep. I just like loud music at times... And soft chilled music at others.

I am no-wheres near goth... I dont really think I could fall into any category. Who in here else can say that honestly?

yeah I listen do the "dark stuff" too and I happen to like wearing black clothes but its not like I cut my wrist for fun or anything like that. I like to rebel against authourity, but i dont use my image to do it. I know a few people who are goths and they are actually quite nice if you chose to treat them like real people, its when you treat them like shit that they treat you like shit.

I've been to nutty metal shows. As far as I can tell based on your story, this is absolutely crazy (metal show, crazy!? ). When I went nobody was out to get anyone, and you could tell who was in a "crew" when you sat in the line outside for 1 hour . The first show I went to I was a bit worried I was gonna get a beating. But I realised when someone fell over about 4 guys would jump in and help them to their feet. Nobody as far as I know/experienced got their ass beat on purpose. It makes me wonder WHO you went to see.
