Amp for 4 12's

What would be the best amp to buy for under $300 bucks, to push 4 400RMS 12's?

Re: Amp for 4 12's

PG 1200.1 would work too

Nine.1 might not, depends on the impedence of the subs

The subs are DUAL 4-ohm. 400 R.M.S. a piece. Built my box today (June 15) about 8.3 cubes in all, 4 4 inch square ports tuned to 35 Hz. Should Bang?? Fixin' to get me an amp, lemme know...

Remember DUAL 4-ohm.

btw- I was thinkin since I'm on a very strict and tight budget, maybe some profiles. Some of them put out about 300 RMS x 2, at 2 ohms. If i got 2 of them, it would cost me about....$160 shipped? Good deal, good quality?

Re: Amp for 4 12's

hmm, so you have 8 4ohm coils....

lets see, you can get .5ohm, 2ohm, 8ohm, 32ohm, and probably some other insignificant ones in between, the point being you cannot get 1ohm, so the nine.1 wouldn't work. JBL 1200.1 or PG 1200.1 get my vote.

Re: Amp for 4 12's

Not a clue on the box, the box design depends completely on the subs that are going to be used in it.

Anyway, for the amps try www.woofersetc.com and ebay

Profile amps are pretty solid, but honestly they're still very low budget amps. I would go with JBL or PG instead if you can afford it, if you can't then the Profile should be fine, stick to the California line though.

Re: Amp for 4 12's

go with two seperate amps that will put out around 5-600 rms at 1 ohm or 4 ohms.....I wouldn't be comfortable putting those x-sites at full power. Perhaps two bx500d's or one bx1500d @ 2 ohm.
