does this really work, or is it b.s.

ok iwas looking on ebay and i stumbled across this Performance R Chip. they claim it will add 20+ hp. is this true? i am asking if it will really work cuz the only want $5 for it. this makes me think its BS. let me know if any of u have used this chip or know someone who has. and how well does it really work?

Yeah, these do exist and chances are it's for real, although that does seem too cheap.
My friend bought a chip for his M5 that added about 25hp, and it worked for him. So yeah, if you can get it for cheap it's definately a good buy.

these chips change the air and fuel ratio creating a higher combustion in the engine creating more power....they also increase air intake...so they truly do work...and i was looking at those on ebay but dont know if those are bullshit or not

yeah i would rather try to ask someone in a shop about it and then have them recommend one first, cause there are a lot of bull items on ebay

Well the factory programming is designed with the least amount of emissions and the best gas milage in mind. So yeah stoichiometric mixture is 14.7(air):1(gas) but thats for best gas milage, best power is about 10% greater than that. So you may pickup 20HP but your MPG will probably suffer a tiny bit.

thats verry true, because its $1 for the chip and $4 for s&h. still not a bad price.

plus you have to look at shippin, installing the part, and tuning the settings and the chance of it working, i'd just goto a more expensive but guaranteed chip

Alot of times thoes chips are just a little resistor that the seller trys to trick you with. thay dont work. find one thats more expensive with a picture that you know isnt a rip off
