This is Hasegawa's curbside kit built box stock. The color is 2 coats of Tamiya Mica Red over Tamiya Maroon, interior is black with gray carpet. This is a very good kit with two minor problems, the woodgrain decal for the dash does not smooth out very well even with solvent. The other fix is to lower the rear ride height by leaving out the poly bushing and mounting the brake higher.

Gorgeous!
Could you give us a few more details about how you did the paintjob. Is the Mica Red sanded back between coats? Are they heavy coats? Did you apply a clear? Sorry about all the questions but I'm always trying to improve my metallic paintjobs. I find that most metallic finishes are far too out of scale in 1:24. I HATE splangly metallic paint. Yours is perfect though and exactly what I'm after. Thanks Farrokh

Re: Finished: Toyota 2000GT
Quote:
I used Tamiya white primer, sanded. Then one coat of Maroon, sanded. Next I started my final coats with 15 minutes in between each coat. 2 wet coat Mica red 2 wet coats Tamiya clear The mica colors have very fine pigment, smaller than metallic but even Tamiya's metallics are in scale.

Veyron, excellent composition on the pictures..and the model...it's sweet. Like your Pantera you made this 2000gt look very realistic!Good job on the lowering, beautiful paint and I like the brightwork too.
I have an idea for your next project...Lamborghini Miura S I know you would do it justice |
